Chokecherry Bounce Revisited

In August I wrote about my experiment with Chokecherry Bounce and that I'd have to wait until the end of October to try it out. The end of October arrived a few days ago, so it was time to finish the process and take a first taste.

First step was to strain out the chokecherries, which I did using a colander lined with cheesecloth.

The resulting concoction was transferred back into the whiskey bottle I'd started with in August.

To capture as much of the liquid as possible, I sqeezed out the fruits, getting another quarter cup or so. This went into the whiskey bottle too.

Here's the final result. The color is spectacular!

And finally, a taste test. It is amazing! Sweet, rich cherry-almond aroma, deep cherry flavor, all wrapped in the warmth of the whiskey... SO good! A nugget of summer captured in a bottle!
