Google Meet Session B
(15 min) What pillars am I part of?
- How are those pillars upholding the regime?
- In those pillars, what kind of defiance is already happening and what could more look like?
- Who are key decision-makers in those pillars who we could influence, pressure, or persuade to support more noncooperation?
Think of anyone in your circle who has already been risking and noncooperating.
Think of anyone in your circle who may be given orders that they might have to defy or not cooperate with.
(10 min) Who do you know that’s already doing subtle or quiet defiance?
- Where could you imagine defiance in your workplace, congregation, union, school?
- Who in your life could take action if they were nudged or supported?
- Who might you have already given up on, but maybe as things deteriorate they might reconsider?
(5 min) If you came up with at least one or two people, think about a plan for how you’ll reach out to them, or as many of those people as you can, to encourage them, such as:
- Writing a note to them, starting a conversation or sending a message of support or encouragement.
- You can say, thanks for noncooperating.
- Or, I’ve got your back if you choose to in the future.
- Or, I’d be happy to talk to you in the future if you get asked to do things against your morals—we got you.
- This can be in any format: a letter or text message, or a direct conversation.
